Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Danielle Meissner

Dr. Danielle Meissner grew up in rural Montana, where her love for animals was nurtured in a close-knit, small-town environment. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Montana State University and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2019. Dr. Meissner is passionate about dermatology, allergy management, preventive care, and soft tissue surgery, and she’s excited to bring these specialties to her patients.

With the recent acquisition of the practice, Dr. Meissner is committed to enhancing client education and ensuring open, transparent communication to support the health and well-being of every pet. In her free time, Dr. Meissner enjoys hiking, fishing, trail riding, reading, traveling. She and her partner, Dr. Kade Grende, share a home filled with their many beloved animals, from horses to dogs to cats.

Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Kade Grende

Dr. Kade Grende was born and raised in Idaho Falls, where his family still resides. With deep roots in the community, he completed his undergraduate degree at Idaho State University before earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2019. A lifelong duck hunter, Dr. Grende has a special interest in providing care and rehabilitation for sporting dogs, as well as a passion for orthopedics and geriatric care.

Dr. Grende is thrilled to be part of the practice’s return to private ownership, where he’s dedicated to improving client education and fostering transparent communication. Outside of veterinary work, Dr. Grende enjoys hunting, fishing, and adding to his collection of sheds. While known for his outdoor pursuits, he secretly holds the title of “world’s best cat dad.” Dr. Grende shares his life with his partner, Dr. Danielle Meissner, and their array of animals, including 4 horses, 1 mini horse, 3 dogs, and 3 cats.

DVM, Medical Director

Dr. Leatha Bennett

A familiar face at our practice, Dr. Bennett, joined the SVH team in 2014. She graduated from Colorado State University in 1994. After graduation, her and her husband moved to Idaho and have enjoyed all that Idaho has to offer. She was promoted to Medical Director in 2021. With her knowledge and caring nature, she provides exceptional treatment and care for all her patients. Leatha and her horses travel across the country competing in Omoksee and closer to home in barrel racing, pole bending, and posse. Her and her husband have mules which are great in the mountains for riding and camping out. She also provides a loving and comforting home for her cat, Jewel.
Practice Manager

Brittney

Brittney, our Practice Manager, has been with SVH since 2005. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Idaho State University. She has a truly amazing and best boy, Cash, who is a Husky mix. She also has a rambunctious, ultimate loving goofball, Eva, who is a hound mix. Of course, the house is ruled by Squint Eastwood, a stubborn but adorable Maincoon mix. She loves to spend her free time playing soccer and hanging out with her husband, stepson, and furrballs.
Front Office Supervisor

Stacey

Stacey has been working with us since 2018 and is our front office supervisor. She moved from Kansas City with her husband for his new job, which was the best thing that could have happened to us. She is unparalleled in her compassion and dedication to helping every animal she comes across. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports and hanging out with her furr-babies. She has 3 kids and 3 grandbabies. She also has a whole family of cats and dogs. One is a Great Pyrenese named Wyn, and another is a Heeler named Bode.
Receptionist

Diane

Diane has been working for SVH since 2009. She is one of the kindest and compassionate members of the receptionist team.  She has two sweet kitties, Stella and Stinky Pants, two children, and three grandchildren. In her free time, she loves Christmas and collects Christmas ornaments. She has such an amazing heart and volunteers at the local food bank on her day off every week.
Receptionist

Sarena

Sarena and her family settled in Idaho in 2010 after several years of moving in support of her husband’s military career. She has 18 years of management experience that has taught her the importance of community and connection. She is actively involved in volunteering with local organizations and enjoys crafting and spending time with family and friends. She has a cat named Pickles that she states, “is not a sweet pickle but a dill pickle!” She was welcomed to the Shelley Veterinary family in February 2025.
Veterinary Assistant

Madi

Madi grew up in Moore, Idaho. At a young age, she loved going to her grandparents’ farm in Chester to help with all the animals as well as spending time with her family. Madi graduated from ISU and worked in human medicine for 5 years before switching to VetMed in 2022. She feels that it is rewarding to be part of a field where she can combine her genuine love for animals with her dedication to helping others. She loves spending time camping with family and cuddling with her kitties, Sayo, Marshall, Gracie, and Glitch.
Veterinary Technician

Becki

Becki came to us after moving to Idaho Falls in 2018 from Seattle with her husband. She worked as a technician for 8 years at a large rescue in Seattle before she came to us. She has fostered hundreds of dogs and cats over the years and was key in helping to find them, new families, to call home. She loves to spend her free time with her children and grandchildren. She also has two cats, Jack and Beau.
Veterinary Technician

Alisha

Alisha has become a valuable asset to our technician team. She started with us in 2019 and has quickly fallen in love with the work we do and all our furry clients. She has 2 dogs, a Boxer mix named Lillee, and a Chihuahua named Chomper. In her free time, she loves going on adventures with her husband and cuddling with her furrbabies. It is a pleasure having her as part of the Shelley Veterinary Staff.
Veterinary Technician

Sally

Sally made the journey from California and joined our team in October of 2022. She has worked in several branches of human medicine until the cuteness of our patients pulled her to us. She has 2 human children and 2 furrkids, a cockapoo named Angus and a dog in a cat suit named Caddy McCatterson. Anything outdoors, especially fishing, is her favorite and she loves to attend concerts whenever possible. She started with our reception team and has quickly advanced to veterinarian assistant and is thriving.
Veterinary Technician

Taylie

Taylie grew up in Rigby on a family farm. Growing up on a farm, she has a broad knowledge of potato farming, animals, and hard work. She came to us in February of 2024 as a Veterinary Assistant and has been one of the best additions to our work family. She has an incredible work ethic and grows more and more every day. She is a newlywed and loves to spend her free time with her new husband and their furrkids, Luna, Shorzy, and Millie.
Kennel Technician

MattiJo

MattiJo has spent her entire life surrounded by animals on her family farm in Aberdeen, Idaho. She formerly worked as a veterinary technician in American Falls for one year prior to joining us in January 2025. She has a husky mix names Kimber, an energetic heeler named Ares, and a horse name Ruger. In her free time, MattiJo enjoys hiking, hunting, moving cows, camping, and road trips.
Kennel Technician

Tenlee

Tenlee was born and raised in Southeast Idaho. She has two dogs who are, of course, her best friends. She loves to go on hikes, play fetch, and camp. She is getting married in the summer of 2025 to her favorite person in the world. She is enjoying her position as a kennel technician and says that Shelley Vet feels like a second family. We are so excited to welcome her to our work family.
