At Shelley Veterinary Hospital (SVH) we strongly believe in the concept of preventive medicine. Regular “Wellness” examinations and vaccinations/ immunizations are extremely important for maintaining the health of your pet. Due to recent discoveries and innovations in veterinary medicine, your pet can be protected from most contagious diseases. The knowledgeable staff at SVH can help you decide what preventive measures are necessary for your pet(s).
Dentistry and Preventive Teeth Cleaning
Animals, like people, need regular dental care. Gum disease causes pain, accounts for the loss of teeth, and can lead to serious generalized bacterial infections. At SVH, our Wellness care includes thorough examination of the mouth and we perform cleanings and other oral hygiene procedures as needed.
SVH is equipped to perform most surgical procedures from spays and neuters to complicated orthopedic procedures. Learn more by reading our SURGERY FAQs.
In-House Laboratory Facilities
Our in-house laboratory provides information that is critical to your sick or injured pet. With our in-house diagnostic equipment, animals can receive appropriate treatment immediately after arriving at SVH.
We stock an extensive drug inventory so medications can be dispensed before leaving the hospital.
We have a complete radiographic facility for taking and developing imaging films, and will be adding digital imaging equipment in the near future.
Hospitalization is needed for sick or debilitated animals. Hospitalization of patients allows for constant monitoring, proper delivery of medication, fluid administration as needed, ICU type treatment and good basic TLC.
We offer laser therapy for a variety of conditions such as arthritis, fractures, wounds, pain and a variety of others. This therapy is the first of its kind and it can provide your pet with much needed relief from the pain and discomfort they are experiencing. Call our knowledgeable staff for more details on this therapy or visit www.litecure.com/companion/.
At SVH, we can help you protect your pet with a permanent ID. Lean more about microchipping.
